At the age of just fifteen she won the ‘Staffordshire’s Pop Stars’ competition with an original composition called 'Slipping Away’ which later appeared on her debut, self-written and home-made album ‘Fairytale' (2010).
Her pursuit of a musical career started at Manchester Metropolitan University where she studied for a Popular Music Degree followed by a Masters' in Contemporary Arts. Whilst studying at University she composed and performed in two enchanting and thought-provoking Musical Theatre shows. In 2011 she formed a band who recorded an album featuring eight of Julia’s songs.
Julia later started her journey into recording as a solo artist, this led to the release of a debut EP of 'class and wonder' (Nick J. Townsend) titled ‘Once in a Blue Moon’ (2017). Following on from this, the ‘Julia Mosley Band' was formed; the uniting of this fellowship ignited the creation of the magnificent debut album 'Illuminate the Night' (2020).
Julia has received much acclaim within the world of music; with internationally renowned artists forming part of her fan-base. And, in 2025 her evocative 'Ballad of a Murderess' was featured in a feature film by award-winning director John Williams; where Julia appeared as herself performing her stunning yet unsettling song.
Taking inspiration from her heroes - Tarja (Nightwish), Evanescence and Ghost, Julia now hopes to bring her dynamic and versatile take on Rock and Goth Music to the international stage.
